Firefighters were called to a house on Parkside Road in the West Bowling area of Bradford, following reports of a collapsed floor at a child’s birthday party this afternoon (Saturday).
Three adults and five children were injured when the kitchen floor at the property partially collapsed into the basement, causing the group to drop approximately 3ft.
As the floor collapsed, the gas pipe was also taken out
Fire crews were called to the property at 3.25pm, and on arrival two breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation unit were used.
The gas board attended the incident to turn off the gas supply to the property and a structural engineer was also in attendance.
One casualty was given oxygen therapy by fire crews and a pregnant woman and three-year-old child were taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary for a precautionary checkup.
The road was closed whilst emergency services attended the incident.
Three appliances from Odsal and Bradford attended with the Technical Rescue Unit and support from Cleckheaton, alongside other specialist vehicles and officers.
