Building destroyed by fire

Fire crews have been tackling a building fire this morning (Monday).

The fire, which completely destroyed a derelict building, happened on New Hey Road, Scammoden at 1.20am.

The whole of the building was involved and flames were coming out of the roof.

Crews from Halifax, Elland, Huddersfield and Meltham attended the fire and used four hose reels and an aerial appliance to tackle the fire.

Nobody was in the building at the time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Police were at the scene enforcing a road closure.
