A man who broke into a Rastrick pub and tried to steal beer pumps has been given a suspended sentence.

Daniel Blanchard, 33, of Ravenscliffe Road, Bradford, was found inside the Bramble Inn on Holy Bank Road. He admitted burglary with intent to steal at Bradford Crown Court.

The offence took place between July 31 and August 7 2010.

The pub had been unoccupied for 18 months when caretaker Jason North was called to the pub.

Mr North found the door had been forced open and beer pumps removed from the bar.

Blanchard admitted burglary, and said his fingers prints were on the pumps because had slept on the pub floor that night.

Judge Jonathan Durham Hall gave him a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, 100 hours unpaid work and a 12 month supervision order.
