A MAN charged with burgling a neighbour’s home has been remanded in custody.
Kieron John Cassidy, of Ovenden Way in Ovenden, Halifax, is accused of breaking into a house in nearby Denfield Crescent in the early hours of May 29.
The 25-year-old is alleged to have entered through a boarded-up bathroom window and stolen a 37-inch TV and two mobile phones.
The property is said to have been snatched from the living room while one of the residents, a Polish man, was sleeping on the sofa.
Cassidy is also accused of stealing a wallet containing £170, bank cards and ID documents, from a coat which was hung up in the hallway of the home.
Altogether, the stolen property was worth an estimated £600.
Cassidy entered no plea to the burglary charge when he appeared at Calderdale Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Magistrates remanded him in custody until the next hearing.
Cassidy will appear back in court, via a video link, on Tuesday July 19.
