The Federation of Master Builders has welcomed the Richard Review of apprenticeships which recognised that employers should have more input into the content of qualifications.

FMB chief executive Brian Berry said the sector recruited almost 30,000 annually. “Employers must have confidence that qualifications are suited to the needs of their business before investing in a new recruit. We agree with the Government that in addition to the ‘core’ elements of any qualification, there should be ‘options’ employers can pick from,” he said.
