Boost for dogs and the deaf
The Hearing Company is celebrating a half century in business by giving £50 for every hearing aid it sells through its 154 outlets during Deaf Awareness Week, which started on Monday.
It will all go towards training dogs that help deaf people.
Trish Cooper, manager of the Halifax premises, which are within Scrivens Opticians in the Cornmarket, said: "We have a natural link to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, which trains dogs to alert owners to specific sounds.
"We are honoured to be able to support the fantastic work it does."
