Members of Business for Calderdale met at the Holdsworth House Hotel, Halifax, and enjoyed a talk on the history of the 17th Century Jacobean Manor.

They were also entertained by John Hotowka who gave a thought provoking presentation about Achievement Thinking called “The Strength of One Empowering All.”

Business for Calderdale chairman Nick Worsnop, a partner in Chadwick Lawrence LLP, said it was fantastic to see a good turnout and more members would be welcomed.

He said the key to BfC’s success was providing an informal atmosphere to enjoy good company and make connections through a unique networking forum.

“The committee has endeavoured to make the meetings as diverse as possible, in particular by inviting local businesses to host the meetings giving members an insight into the many diverse businesses that make up the Calderdale business community,” he said.

Special events are also being planned with guest speakers and the first features former jockey Bob Champion at the Design House Restaurant, Dean Clough, on December 4. Tickets (including dinner and entertainment) cost £25 (£35 non-members).
