The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce is inviting local businesses to come along to a Tour de France inspired networking event at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top.
Connections Count is one of the Chamber’s popular networking events, running every first Thursday of the month, with venues rotating between Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.
July’s event will see proceeds raised for Yorkshire Air Ambulance in a Tour de France theme, with the Chamber encouraging attendees to wear something yellow on the day, donating £1 each to the lifesaving charity.
The initiative, branded Yellow Yorkshire, was formed from a partnership between The Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Johnston Press prior to the Grand Depart. Celebrating the once in a lifetime cycling event coming to our region, everyone is encouraged to send in yellow images of everything from bake-offs and sunflower-filled gardens to fun fancy dress days and yellow fundraisers.
Chamber Marketing Manager Ellie MacDonald explained: “Just as everyone has been donning their red and white outfits in support of England throughout the world cup, we want to make the once-in-a-lifetime visit of Le Tour to Yorkshire as special as we possibly can too. We’re therefore encouraging local business representatives to our popular networking event to join in and wear their brightest yellow outfits and accessories!”
Members and non-members alike (£5.00 entry to non-members) are welcome to come along and enjoy breakfast and the opportunity to make some valuable new contacts.
The event takes place on July 3 between 9.30am and 11am.
