Businessman Chris Smith who took over The New Hobbit at Norland has exciting plans for the building.
After a successful 12 months he is planning a beauty salon at the bistro pub and hotel.
The New Hobbit has had planning permission passed for a 12 bedroom extension in the main car park - at present there are nine rooms.
Mr Smith said there is definitely demand for more bedrooms but also a spa.
“We have a fabulous bridal suite and a function room and are kept busy all year round with weddings. I think wedding and corporate guests would both use a spa,” he said.
He is looking at setting up a beauty salon in the extension with maybe a sauna and steam room.
“It’s taken me 12 months to find my feet but the people of Calderdale have made me feel really welcome and I’m looking forward to the next 12 months,” said Mr Smith.
“It’s going to be a busy one that’s for sure with Le Tour and the extension but I’ve never been afraid of hard work.”
He is celebrating The New Hobbit’s first birthday by adding four real ales into the bar.
