2014’s first Business for Calderdale networking event took place at the new Maltings College.

Business for Calderdale (BfC) members and guests were invited to the new Halifax college to learn more about apprenticeships encompassing education with work based placements for 16-19-year-olds.

Marketing executive at Wright Angle Marketing Marcus Costello said: “ Businesses for Calderdale always hold interesting events. There is a great mix of people and businesses, it is always nice to visit new places across Calderdale and find out more about local companies.

“The Maltings College is a beautiful building and what they are offering young people is fantastic.”

Mr Costello said tt was great to hear from Maltings head Julian Dowson who he said spoke passionately about the college and everything they are doing to help young people find education in the future.

Visitors were given an insight into the working relationships between The Maltings and participating local employers including Working Wonders Limited, C&K Careers and the Apprentice Finder.

After canapes and drinks, guests enjoyed a tour of the former Websters Brewery site.

The secondly monthly BfC networking evening will be held at Reactiv Media, Elland, on February 11, from 5-7pm.
