Gym supports member with charity event

Watching a gym member's brave struggle against Crohn's disease has inspired Bailey's Workout Warehouse in Halifax to organise a charity event.

The gym on Square Road will host a spin-a-thon challenge and fun day to raise funds in aid of Crohn’s and Colitis UK in support of long-standing member Matt Doyle.

Matt was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2013 but still continues his workout routine despite all the challenges he faces.

He said: “As an amateur bodybuilder and winner of the Open Yorkshire Classic in 2010, my Crohn’s diagnosis should have been the end of my body building workouts, but there was no way it was going to get the better of me.

“My workout routines, and my workout warehouse family help me to remain positive, after all, what the mind believes, the body achieves.”

With each sponsored spinner sprinting on a bike for two hours, as well as a raffle and kids tombola, the day promises to be a lot of fun.

Hadley Pollard, owner of Bailey’s Workout Warehouse said:“Our Spin-A-Thon Challenge is set to be a brilliant event, as we are raising money and awareness for a charity close to the gym’s heart.”

The event will be held outside the gym from 9am until 4pm on Saturday, May 7.
