Wedding venues and suppliers from across Yorkshire, Derby and Nottinghamshire attended a glittering ceremony at Sheffield’s City Hall and Holdsworth House walked away with the top prize, which is voted for by brides and grooms across the regions.

General manager, Joseph Farrar, said: “We are so thrilled to win this award, especially as it’s the people’s award, voted for by couples.

“We put our all into each wedding, and it is so important that every couple feels that their wedding day is unique and memorable.

“Our enthusiasm and attention to detail can never falter, but then it’s such a wonderful thing to be part of someone’s special day that every day to us is enormously special too.

“What more could you want than to come to work in this beautiful building everyday and be surrounded by happy events?”

The historic Jacobean manor is an award-winning four star hotel set in beautiful landscaped gardens.

Holdsworth House dates back to 1633 and has been an independent, family-owned hotel for over 50 years.

There have been a variety of celebrities visiting the hotel over the years, including The Beatles, who stayed there at the height of their fame in 1964 on what was John Lennon’s 24th birthday.

In more recent times, the hotel has welcomed the cast of the BBC’s Happy Valley and Jamie Oliver, plus the manor was featured in the second series of Last Tango in Halifax.
