J&C Joel helps kit out billion-dollar resort
J&C Joel, who manufacture stage and theatre drapes, were used to install a tension wire grid system in the park’s theatre which will provide safe access to theatrical lighting, audio cables, loudspeakers, stage rigging, and effects.
Dubai Parks and Resorts is a $2.86 billion multi-theme park complex and measures more than 25 million square feet.

The theme parks are connected by Riverland Dubai, a grand entrance plaza, and Lapita Hotel, a Polynesian themed resort.
J&C Joel is the Middle East distributor for SkyDeck, a wire grid system which gives a transparent portal for lighting and sound devices ensuring there is no discernible loss of focus, signal or energy.
Engineers from the company installed 790 square metres of the SkyDeck system in Motiongate’s theatre to create four tension wire grid walkways.

Ben Richardson-Owen, Middle East project manager at J&C Joel, who handled the installation, said: “Using the SkyDeck system over the traditional net system we found the installation was smoother and faster and we were able to complete the project on schedule.”
The success of the project means J&C Joel, which is based on Corporation Street, have also been commissioned to supply the drapery package for Motiongate and Dreamworks, and the firm has also
won another tension wire grid project using the SkyDeck system.
Ben added: “On the back of the Motiongate project we have been receiving enquires for many more projects.”
