Thirteen staff have lost their jobs at the Copley Data Centre and their work is being outsourced to India.
They are among the 950 job cuts announced by Lloyds on Wednesday as part of the 15,000 role reductions dating from the bank’s strategic review in June 2011. Accord union boss Ged Nichols said nearly 200 of the 950 jobs were being outsourced. “Accord is certain this is not what UK taxpayers would want from a bank in which they are the largest shareholder.
“LBG executives have a duty to think of the public interest before they offshore any more jobs.”
