Theatretrain was established in 1992 and has schools across the UK, the latest of which will be in Calderdale, which opens on September 10.

Theatretrain teaches students skills in the performing arts - acting, dancing and singing - and helping them to perform those skills to an audience.

Every year each child in Theatretrain’s schools’ has the opportunity to perform in a production either locally or at one of the prestigious theatre’s in London’s West End.

Many young people from Theatretrain do establish themselves in the profession and have appeared in large scale productions.

Although Theatretrain never promises stardom to any one, they will encourage young people who want it, to attend auditions.

There will be four age groups: minis (4 and 5 year old’s), 6-9, 9-12 and 13-18.

Each group will get one hour each of dance, drama and singing, except the minis, who do thirty minutes of each. Our aim is to create amazing opportunities for our stage school students to perform on stage in local, regional and world famous West End Venues.

All the students will have the opportunity to perform every year.

Theatretrain is focused on working with good teachers for students to learn theatre skills and is accepting pupils from Halifax and the surrounding areas.

One 10 year old from Luton Theatretrain and one 11 year old from Milton Keynes Theatretrain, were sent to audition for the King and I at the London Palladium, they were both cast and starred next to Josie Lawrence. Others have had major roles in Whistle Down the Wind and other West End shows, plus TV and film work.
