LEADING landscape specialist Marshalls can boast a long list of successes.

And chief executive Graham Holden was given the much-deserved accolade by judges for leading the business.

The major manufacturing employer has continued to evolve, grow and embark on new directions since it started in 1904.

Graham is at the head of a 3,000 strong work force.

It combines expertise in paving, walling, drainage, kerb, traffic management and street furniture, serving both domestic and commercial markets.

The company continues to invest in new technology to develop innovative and ground-breaking products within the industry.

Marshalls is the main sponsor of the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society's annual Chelsea Flower Show. This year's show included a Marshalls garden specially designed by and for children.

Marshalls is also leading the industry in ensuring its products are ethically sourced and sustainable.

The company operates its own quarries and manufacturing sites, as well as 12 service centres and 14 offices throughout the UK.

Chartered accountant Graham was the group finance director of Marshalls for nine years before taking on the role of chief executive.

Business person: Graham Holden said: "I would like to pay tribute to everyone who works in the business for their unstinting support and I also pay tribute to my predecessors, particularly the members of the Marshalls family who continually invest in the business through the good times and bad. It's an incredible legacy."

Praise for the Marshalls family received a big round of applause from guests.

Chadwick Lawrence sponsored the award.
