Supermarkets in Calderdale are among those nationwide that have announced a cut in petrol and diesel prices today.

The news comes ahead of the bank holiday weekend and it seems Morrisons is leading the way by cutting the price of its petrol by up to 2 pence a litre and diesel by 1 pence a litre.

Morrisons’ Halifax store on Keighley Road is the cheapest the Courier has come across so far, selling its fuel at 129.9 pence per litre for unleaded and 135.9 for diesel.

Sainsbury’s Halifax comes in at just a little more at 131.9 pence per litre for unleaded and 136.9 for diesel. But, it has been announced further cuts may be made tomorrow.

From tomorrow morning Asda and Tesco are also set to make announcements.
