A NEW pub-restaurant has announced its official opening date for the Broad Street Plaza development, Halifax.
The Harvester Salad and Grill will open on July 31, creating more than 50 jobs.
Last month, unemployment in Calderdale stood at 6,906.
Harvester’s brand manager Alex Meyer said: “We are delighted to have secured such a fantastic site for our new-look Harvester Salad and Grill in Halifax.
“The area has great potential and we’re confident that Harvester’s unique offering will prove very popular here.
“Our new restaurant will be the ideal setting to meet family and friends, with a relaxed and casual atmosphere that people will want to return to time after time.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming guests of all ages in a few weeks’ time.”
There will be plenty of places to eat and drink with Harvester, which is part of the Mitchell and Butler group, taking one of the units in the plaza and the JD Wetherspoons chain filling another.
The £50m Broad Street Plaza is due to open this summer with reports of an official announcement from Calderdale Council next week.
It will include a multi-screen Vue cinema, a 100-bed Premier Inn and will house a new NHS Calderdale centre to replace the existing Laura Mitchell Clinic.
There will be a 400-space car park and according to the developers, Gregory Projects, about 220 people could eventually have jobs in the Plaza.
