Firm unites sport with designers

Form and Glory, a new Ripponden-based online store and design business, has brought together over 20 artists and designers to create products for the sports merchandise and gift market.

Initially, the store will focus on retailing fine art prints that are inspired by a wide range of sports, but there are also bespoke and handmade products which aren’t available in sporting club shops.

Founder Steven Taylor believes style-conscious sports fans are being short-changed and there is a perfect opportunity to bring something different to the market.

“I think there is a total disconnect between the amount of sheer creative talent we have, and the level of creativity found in the products that dominate the sports memorabilia sector.

“Form and Glory is all about tapping into, and rewarding, creative talent and has creativity at the very heart of the process.

“We need to move away from the gimmicks and mass-market approach.

“Why can´t sports fans also have design taste?

“Far away from the market stalls and gift shop gimmicks, we’ve searched out products and people with a strong hand and eye for sport and style.”

The collection has been launched with around 200 prints and products available from £10.

There is also a marketplace-style option offering unique, hand-made products, such as Bicycle Taxidermy from designer furniture maker RS Barcelona.
