THE Halifax bank is absolutely committed to Calderdale – as one of its major business centres in the UK.
Those were the words of Halifax’s group director David Nicholson to business people this week.
Mr Nicholson addressed the networking group Business For Calderdale and said any successful business needs to connect with its community.
And, he said, with more than 6,500 empoyees in Calderdale alone, the Halifax saw this region as absolutely crucial to its future success.
Mr Nicholson was speaking just days after the bank launched a major new TV advertising campaign featuring employees (15 from Halifax) in a community choir.
He reassured his audience: “The Halifax is the biggest and most profitable brand in the Lloyds business and is very important to the UK ecomomy and all of us here today.”
Mr Nicholson has also taken on the job of regional ambassador for Yorkshire for parent company Lloyds Banking Group.
