Jobs support for all is under one roof at 2010 Calderdale Jobs, Training and Enterprise Event

A CHANCE to find a job, re-train, set up a business or opt for a change of career will all be available to people attending this year's Calderdale Jobs, Training and Enterprise Event.

Organised by the Evening Courier, supported by Calderdale Council, the 2010 event brings together employers, experts and advisers all under one roof, to help people choose the right career path.

It takes place at North Bridge Leisure Centre, Halifax, on Wednesday June 9 from 10am to 7pm.

The jobs wall will have plenty of vacancies to look at but the event is not just about jobs.

The exhibition is to be split into four zones to make it easier to find the right section – Jobs and careers, business and enterprise, training and apprenticeships and the Future Jobs Fund. Among the wide range of organisations offering services and vacancies will be local colleges and Huddersfield University, NHS, Lloyds TSB, the fire service, Jobcentre Plus and Kits.

The Courier's events and exhibitions manager, Andrew Crabtree, said: "This free event is for all people within Calderdale, both the public and business community, so in one day they can get their questions answered by the professionals.

"It's not just for people coming out of school but we also have the support for people wanting to go into business or want to re-train or go into a different career.

"Services such as the army, police, fire service will also be there so there is something for everybody. There will be lots of help.

"For people who are not sure how to put a CV together, there will be help and advice on that. So it's quite a comprehensive event.

"The business and enterprise zone might show funding opportunities that people don't even realise are there.

"We also have some quiet areas to offer the privacy for talking, and a relaxing cafe area so visitors can sit down and digest information given and talk to the experts to plan their next steps."
