Heritage Cashmere is a small family business with a history woven into the fabric of Calderdale.

Established in 1997 it was founded upon three generations of the Kaye family’s experience in woollen manufacturing at William Eddleston’s Limited, Sowerby Bridge.

As managing director at the time, John Kaye introduced some of their most innovative, and successful products including woven accessories made from the finest cashmere, angora and lambswool; products which quickly took over the traditional fabric side of the business.

However, in 1997 seeing a reluctance to change in the industry, John set out on his own, following his ambition to provide a purely personal, bespoke service to leading luxury fashion houses which remains true to this day.

Whilst woollen manufacturing has seen a dramatic decline in Calderdale, Heritage Cashmere, based at Holmfield, Halifax, remains one of the last suppliers of finished cashmere products to luxury brands and boutiques worldwide.

Today, Heritage Cashmere provides a personal design service to designers, buyers and owners of luxury fashion labels, creating bespoke collections of cashmere scarves, stoles and knitwear.

Heritage Cashmere now offer a stock supported collection of cashmere and recently opened its own retail store in Halifax stocked with cashmere scarves, stoles and knitwear to knitted accessories and elegant home furnishings.

Retail and mail order are exciting areas which Heritage Cashmere has invested into for 2012, and corporate gifts present many a special opportunity for the company.

An example are winter cashmere scarves which are highly sought after towards Christmas.

Combined with new enquiries from some of the world’s most luxurious fashion brands Heritage Cashmere is looking at a bright future.

The company will host a champagne launch event to celebrate the launch of its winter collection when 10 per cent of all proceeds will go to Angelo’s Angels which works in the field of myeloma bone marrow cancer research.
