Landscaping company's four-gong success

A CALDERDALE landscaping company has swept the board at a prestigious marketing awards ceremony.

Marshalls, with offices at Elland and sites at Southowram, won four gongs at the annual SWOT awards – designed to recognise the most talented marketing operations in the UK, outside London.

They are further prizes for the company which last year gained the business of the year title in the Evening Courier Business Awards.

It gained the Grand Prix for marketing excellence, as well as being honoured for best PR strategy, for its high impact campaign to raise ethical issues in the industry, and best sponsorship strategy for the firm's three-year connection with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Group marketing director Chris Harrop won the Marketer of the Year Award for his team leadership and success in raising awareness of social issues while delivering a targeted marketing strategy.

He said: "It's great to see the marketing world is growing to acknowledge the importance of real corporate responsibility, and reward businesses for credible and accountable campaigns.

"Marshalls has a fantastic team of highly professional marketers and I'm proud to see them acknowledged for this work.

"Sustainability is something we're very committed to and will continue to champion in the industry."
