SEVEN jobs have been axed by the Lloyds Banking Group in Halifax.
They affect staff in the finance division and are among 635 role reductions across the country.
The organisational change was previously announced in the June 2011 strategic review.
Most of the staff affected are likely to be redeployed into other jobs.
Over the last three years, less than 50 per cent of the role reductions have led to people leaving the bank through redundancy.
The bank said the latest changes affect Group Operations, Group Executive Functions and Wealth and International Divisions.
“Lloyds Banking Group is committed to working through these changes with employees in a careful and sensitive way,” said a bank spokeswoman.
Staff were briefed by their line manager yesterday and the group’s recognised unions consulted prior to the announcement.
