Halifax Renewables were chosen to take part in this year’s Ecobuild exhibition in London where they gave 10 half-hour demonstrations on how to install solar panels.
Ecobuild is the world’s biggest renewable energy exhibition and had its 10th annual event at the ExCeL exhibition centre in London, which was attended by thousands of manufacturers. Halifax Renewables currently employs five staff and was established in 2010.
It is based at the Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre and installs a range of technologies including solar thermal panels, heat pumps and biomass boilers.
Owner Steve Shimbles said: “We were delighted to have been invited to take such a prominent role in the world’s biggest event of this type.
“We’ve been going to it for several years as visitors so it was really important to us as a business to demonstrate our skills. It helps raise the profile of our business and of renewable energy in general. Hopefully it demonstrated how accessible these things can be and also how important it is putting the right technologies into the right homes.”
More than 100 industry experts, ministers and VIPs took centre stage at the three-day event earlier this month. Issues covered at the conference included the energy performance of buildings, fracking, green design and high speed rail.
