A Greater Manchester building company has opened its first Yorkshire office in Calderdale.

Redwaters has set up a construction arm, Redwater Contracts, at Harley House, Mill Fold, Ripponden.

The new company is led by construction director Richard Lishman who has over 40 years experience in the industry and is the former construction director for Southdale, which was based in Halifax.

Redwaters has been building residential, retail and commercial developments in the north west for almost 40 years, and the new company has started work on an exclusive gated development of 10 properties in Ripponden.

Ripponden Vale, as it will be known, is next door to Harley House on the site of a former garage

It will consist of mainly detached houses but there will also be some semi-detached along with bespoke apartments.

It is the company’s second development in the village. It’s first, Riverside Court, off Oldham Road, was completed earlier this year.

The nine houses, which are all sold, was believed to be the first gated development in the village.

Ripponden Vale is aimed at families and young professionals.

The three and four bedroomed houses, all with garages, will overlook the River Ryburn and will have gardens and a woodland area.

It will be finished by the summer of 2016 and prices released before Christmas 2015.
