Waste management firm Orchard Environmental of Elland, will be expanding its premises and boosting the size of its sales team in 2014.

It will be recruiting staff in telesales and field sales.

Group managing director Gareth Henderson said investment in the firm’s offices and infrastructure to support growth was already underway.

“Building work has begun at Orchard House to create a new business unit for the environmental team with more space, a separate entrance and state-of-the-art IT and telecoms systems,” he said.

Mr Henderson said Orchard Environmental had already put in place a number of initiatives to enhance customer service including the installation of a bespoke waste management software system. Waste reporting is a key element of the software and will mean clients can manage their waste more effectively and divert more to recycling and waste recovery sites.

“It will also provide major benefits to those managing ISO14001 and similar compliance schemes, assisting with on-going waste monitoring and management. In the autumn we also put our own waste vehicle on the road to carry out emergency collections for clients in the West Yorkshire area if their regular supplier doesn’t turn up as scheduled,” he said.

The Orchard Group employs 90 people and has regional offices across the UK.
