The Cooking School at Dean Clough, Halifax, has been crowned the best in Britain.
It won the small cookery school category at the Brtish Cookery School Awards.
Cooking School director Matthew Benson-Smith, who picked up the award, said it was a tough category and to win was brilliant.
“2013 has been an amazing year for everyone on the team and the award really is the icing on the cake.”
The ceremony held at the Vintners’ Company, London, was hosted by BBC Radio 2’s food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden.
He said: “The Cooking School at Dean Clough is a passionate team, highly professional and dedicated.
“They offer an inspirational experience for leisure customers, but they are dedicated to supporting their community as well as inspiring young people to consider a career in catering through their chef apprenticeship programme.”
Plans for the future include a new kitchen and a fresh range of courses enabling the school to reach more people.
More than 400 cookery schools now operate in the UK helping promote good, homemade food.
