Agents back residential property investment

For generations people have been investing in bricks and mortar, whether they are buying a home for themselves or investing in property for buy-to-let. Increasing house prices over the last 40 years make it easy to see why individuals would decide on residential property over other assets, especially in view of the buoyant buy-to-let market and low returns on savings.

Estate agency William H Brown in Halifax and Sowerby Bridge has announced a new partnership with Hearthstone Investments, an innovative residential property fund manager which will offer the chance to invest in buy-to-let without directly buying any property. Subject to FSA approval, Hearthstone’s first managed fund has been set-up to allow investors to benefit from long term capital growth in the UK housing market, as well as rental income. William H Brown will be advising on the properties acquired by the fund.

“As history shows, residential property as a long-term asset generates fantastic returns,” says David Plumtree, Chief Executive for William H Brown. “Our partnership with Hearthstone and its soon to launch residential property fund, which is looking to buy up to 10,000 properties across the UK, offers an innovative way for investors to benefit from the housing market. As local housing experts, we will be advising Hearthstone on which properties to buy and what will provide the greatest returns for investors.”

Until now, investing in the residential market has been very difficult with fund managers favouring commercial property. When launched, Hearthstone’s new fund will overcome this barrier by enabling investors to put their money, including pensions and ISAs directly in residential buy-to-let.

“We are very excited by the launch of Hearthstone’s new fund and would encourage anyone who is interested to visit Hearthstone’s website, www.hsinvestments.co.uk where they will find information, contact details and details on when people can invest,” says David. “This is the ideal option for anyone who is looking for investment opportunities. The innovative nature of the fund combined with William H Brown’s renowned expertise in the housing market will make this a must buy for prospective investors.”
