Roadshow coming to teach how to be ready for digital TV

ARE you ready for the digital switch-over?

A roadshow is coming to Sowerby Bridge later this month to make sure television viewers are clued-up on the forthcoming changes.

As part of a tour of the whole of Yorkshire, it will be stopping on Tuel Lane, behind the market, from 9am until 5pm on Friday, August 19.

Digit Al, the switch-over robot, will be joining the roadshow team to offer practical advice on how to get set for digital, as well as information about the switch-over help scheme for older and disabled people.

Visitors will have the opportunity to find out when switch-over is happening and the options for going digital, learn how eligible people can get a TV converted by the switch-over help scheme and see technical demonstrations, such as how to re-tune a digi box, and put questions to Digital UK’s specially trained advisers

John Askew, Digital UK regional manager for Yorkshire, said: “The whole of the Yorkshire TV region, covering more than six million viewers, will have switched to digital by the end of September. This is a great opportunity for people to meet the teams from Digital UK and the Switch-over Help Scheme, find out how to prepare and learn what assistance is available.”

The switch-over in Calderdale will happen in September. For more information call 08456 505050.
