A mature businessman from Hebden Bridge attended a reception at St James’ Palace in London, hosted by the Prince of Wales.
Rod Boyes was invited to attend the prestigious event by the Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise (PRIME), having set-up Pinegrove Leather after attending a business training course run by the charity in Leeds.
Rod, who produces handmade leather goods, showcased his business to the guests, which included other mature entrepreneurs from around the country.
He said: “It’s not every day you get invited to attend an event at St James’s Palace and it was a big honour for me to have the opportunity to meet the Prince of Wales.”
After being made redundant, Rod received help from PRIME to turn his leather goods business idea into reality.
