When Delroy Sheriffe started his printing business seven years ago his three sons took a keen interest.

And, now all the boys are working with dad at Calder Labels, West Parade, Halifax.

The family affair specialises in self-adhesive label printing mainly for the food and chemicals sector.

All the boys are well known through their rugby links.

Rikki, 28, plays for Halifax RLFC and is the latest signing for the business with responsibility for sales.

Jode, 26 and Jess Jo, 23, both play for Keighley Cougars.

Jode is a printer and Jess Joe is in charge of design.

Rikki, pictured right playing for Halifax, said he was settling into his new routine after previously being a full-time player. “It’s good working with the family and we are all willing to help each other,” he said.

Delroy, 49, has over 30 years print experience and said the family set-up worked well.

“We bicker a bit like all families but keep it contained and we all know what we have to do in the business,” he said.

“The rugby background is a help but it’s not what keeps us going.”

Delroy said the family kept all production in-house and can handle multi-colour print runs from 500 to five million.
