Satpal Roth of Sowerby Bridge based firm Kher Solicitors has been highly commended at a prestigious award ceremony in London.

The Association of Women Solicitors Awards 2012 recognises the success of women solicitors in business and shortlisted Satpal for Best Woman Solicitor Managing a Small Practice.

On the evening Satpal was highly commended as a Woman Solicitor Managing a Small Practice, which was in recognition of her efforts as a sole practitioner.

The Ceremony took place at the Law Society in London on Thursday, September 13 and Satpal attended with a colleague.

Satpal said “I was delighted to be nominated, and even more thrilled to receive the Essential for Success prize on the night.

“I set up Kher solicitors in March 2010 to provide professional legal advice to a range of business and individuals both locally and nationally.

“It is has been a challenge running my own business but I think this award recognises the hard work I have put into making it work.”

Satpal continued: “I could not have got this far without the efforts and support of the team at Kher Solicitors, we are a small but effective team.

“I think our success is down to being able to offer clients the benefit of our expertise, gained at larger law firms, combined with accessibility of their advisers and lower legal fees”
