Store workers’ extra mile raises £2,600

STAFF at Sainsbury’s store in Brighouse are celebrating after going the extra mile in their fundraising efforts for this year’s Sports Relief campaign.

Workers raised more than £2,600 following a number of sporting themed activities at the store in Huddersfield Road.

Along with selling Sport Relief 2012 merchandise, customers supported events including a huge Zumba workout in the car park and staff taking part in a rowing and cycling challenge. They also played a football competition.

Sainsbury’s UK stores raised over £4 million for the national appeal.
