The story of a group of brave West Yorkshire men who accepted Lord Kitchener’s call to arms in WWI will be told by author David Raw at a meeting of the Halifax Great War Heritage Society on Thursday, February 12.

David, the author of ‘The Bradford Pals’, used to live in Lightcliffe and has close connections with Halifax and the Calder Valley. He knew several of ‘the pals’ and his work is an in-depth study of the local Kitchener battalions.

The talk on The Bradford Pals will be at The Old Mill, Hall Street North, Boothtown, on February 12 at 7.30pm. There will be refreshments and a discussion. Tel 01422 647457 for more details.
