THE search is on for someone to replace Owen Williams as Calderdale Council’s chief executive.
Mr Williams, who joined the council in 2007, is due to leave the authority in May to takeover as the chief executive of the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
The council’s employment committee has held a special meeting to discuss the pending changes at the top and the arrangements for selecting and appointing a successor.
“We have embarked on the process of recruiting an interim chief executive and plan to have someone in post at the end of April, before Owen leaves,” said a council spokesman.
It is the council’s intention to make a permanent appointment to the £170,000-a-year post in the summer.
There is speculation that a temporary post holder could be recruited from among the ranks of existing directors and chief officers.
