Two local businessmen have already pedalled in thousands of pounds for a national heart charity ahead of their European bike challenge.

Andy Thomson, 45, operations director at Halifax’s MSL Property Care Services, and Jason Hopkin, 45, design director for Design and Display, Elland, are cycling 206-miles from London to Paris to raise as many pounds and euros as they can for the British Heart Foundation - a client of MSL’s.

Friends Andy and Jason will take to the saddle with other ‘Rough Riders’ cycling friends from June 6-8.

Rough Riders have already raised £3,000.

Andy, whose currently training most weekends with Jason, said: “We really appreciate the support we’ve already received in raising money and awareness for this amazing charity and hope it continues.

“On a personal note, this ride will push me beyond what I would recognise as my own physical fitness ability and give me a huge sense of achievement - so if anyone reading can sponsor us it would be greatly appreciated.”
