A former manager at the Community Foundation for Calderdale has appeared in court to face charges of possessing offensive animal porn.

Mark Fleetwood - who has worked with a string of charitable organisations across the district - appeared before Calderdale Magistrates Court yesterday.

He was charged with having 848 extreme pornographic images and videos of people having sex with horses, donkeys and dogs - described as “grossly offensive, disgusting, or otherwise of an obscene character”.

When he was arrested in October, Fleetwood, 48, of Garden Field in Wyke, was marketing and business development manager for the Community Foundation for Calderdale.

He was the driving force behind the organisation of the high-profile Imaginarium Charity Ball last September.

A spokeswoman for the organisation said: “Mark Fleetwood is no longer employed by Community Foundation for Calderdale. We have no further comment to make.”

Yesterday he was still listed as staff on the foundation’s website.

The foundation raises and distributes money to groups across Calderdale.

On his LinkedIn profile, Fleetwood’s lists of goals include “helping more businesses do more ‘good’ and more charities do more ‘business’”.

He says he has over 20 years of “directly serving, and serving in, the voluntary, community and faith sector/civil society - variously as a volunteer, activist, catalyst, leader, trustee and

officer”.

Fleetwood will appear again before Bradford Crown Court next month.
