The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for the weekend as snow and sleet is set to cause disruption across Calderdale.
Forecasters have warned that an area of rain and sleet moving up from the south will turn increasingly to snow over the weekend.
Thursday will be frosty and cold but it is on Friday when the weather warning kicks in with “some heavy and persistent snowfall likely to develop across the higher parts of northern England”.
The Met Office is predicting there could be more than 10cm of snow combining with strong to gale force winds to create atrocious conditions with drifting and blizzards.
A spokesperson said: “The public should be aware of the likelihood of another spell of difficult and disruptive wintry weather.”
