Monday morning at Dean Field Community School, Ovenden, was filled with African dance, drums, beats and laughter in a special visit from African Zulus as part of the school’s literacy week.
Deputy head Jane Cahill said: “We started the week with a big bang - one child said it was the best Monday ever. The Zulu’s brought some originality to their African chanting and myth literature studies.”
The whole school participated in the morning and year’s two, four and six took part in afternoon dance workshops.
Pupils’ presented what they had learnt from the Zulus in a parents school assembly.
