An artist in Hebden Bridge has created a range of glass ornaments reflecting the Calderdale countryside in time for the Tour de France.

Jane O’Neill has produced a range of fused glass coasters, cuff links, key rings and limited edition prints depicting images of cyclists racing through Yorkshire towns on the Tour de France route.

Jane said: “I love cycling and I’m completely obsessed with local landscapes.

“I’ve been working with glass for a few years

“I’m really excited about the Tour de France and I’ll definitely be watching on the day.

“The reaction has been amazing - the coasters are selling everywhere. They’re in 15 galleries in the area.

“Everyone’s been very positive about them.

“I’ve been working one day a week as an artist for the last five years but I’d like to devote more time to it in future if I can.

“I’d sold over 1,000 before Christmas so they’re selling very well.

“I’m also going to start producing greetings cards. My medium has always been glass but people have asked that they are made as prints as well.

“The longest bit is coming up with the images, which are mainly places I know from cycling round the area.

“They are painted with glass enamel and fused into the glass. I make around 100 a week using a kiln in my garage.”
