Police in Huddersfield are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery.

Kirklees CID would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident at the junction of Carr Green Lane and Robsons Drive at about 12.30am on March 3.

It took place after the victim, a 39-year-old woman, was approached by two men while getting out of a taxi.

One of the men then attempted to grab the woman’s handbag which she resisted and began shouting at them.

The shout attracted the attention of neighbours, causing the men to run off empty handed.

The first suspect was described as around 6ft in height, stocky. and wearing a thick dark and light grey striped hooded top. The other was shorter and slim wearing a dark hoody.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information can contact PC Andrew Clayton at Huddersfield CID on 101 or CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.
