The Rotary Club of Sowerby Bridge is set for another busy year of events - with a brand new show on the calendar.

The Sowerby Bridge Classic Bike Show will feature up to 100 pre-1980s bikes, with trophies handed out to winners of each class.

The show takes place on Sunday, May 25 at the Shire Cruisers Wharf.

If you have a pre-1980 classic bike and would like to enter the show, contact Bob Howard on 01422 882964 or email duke888@talktalk.net.

The annual Rotary Navigation Walk will be held on Sunday, April 6 along the banks of the Calder and Hebble Navigation between the Navigation pub in Horbury and the Canal Wharf in Sowerby Bridge.

There will be stop/start points at Mirfield, Brighouse and Elland and a link to Heckmondwike and Cleckheaton on Spen Valley Greenway.

The club has also welcomed two new members in Shabir Hussain and Hazel Brindle.

Mrs Brindle said: “We’re both delighted to become members of the Rotary club and are looking forward to a great year of exciting events, which will hopefully raise lots of money for good causes.”
