White Rose Waterski Club at Cromwell Bottom will see the UK’s best kneeboarders battle it out with the USA for the International Rider Cup.

The free weekend event starting at 9am will see boarders take to the waters in a range of categories including tricks and slalom.

Held every two years the Rider cup will see over 40 riders, age ranging from 14 to late 30s, on the lake, with practice sessions starting on Thursday.

Brian Rook, from the ski club off Elland Road, said: “We have been over to the States and they won it last time so we hope to win it back.

“We will also be having exhibitions of wake boarders and bare foot skiing at lunchtime.

“The weather is forecast is good so it will be good day out for all the family to see something different.”
