Boost from fibre broadband

British Telecom has announced a further major investment in West Yorkshire communities, including those in Todmorden and Queensbury, as it rolls-out its £2.5 billion high-speed fibre broadband network to 82,000 more homes and businesses.

Batley, Crofton, Heckmondwike, Huddersfield, Slaithwaite and Laisterdyke also benefit and all areas are due to be upgraded in 2013. BT regional director John Anderson said: “Fibre broadband opens up a whole new, high speed world. Digital technology is fundamental to how we live and work.”
