Calderdale bus drivers will be swapping the streets of Halifax streets for a spot of limelight at the Commonwealth Games.
First Bus, the local bus operator, won the contract to transport athletes, officials, spectators and the media at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Around 25 bus drivers from Calderdale have volunteered to be a part of the 700 strong First Bus driving pool.
Ray Ogilve has been driving at First Bus for 41 years and said: “All of us are proud to be part of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and proud to represent First. We’ll be going all out to set new driving and customer service personal bests.”
Business manager of First Bus in Halifax, Oliver Howarth, said: “I’m delighted that a number of our drivers are to be part of the First team this summer.”
