The wheels are in motion for a outdoor charity spectacular to mark the Tour de France racing through Cragg Vale.
Preparations are under way for the all-day celebration in the grounds of EPS Plant Hire in Cragg Road, where guests will be able to watch the world’s top riders begin their climb to Blackstone Edge on Sunday, July 6.
It has been organised by Halifax-based charity Hope Community Village, which raises money for orphaned and abused children in Kerala, Southern India.
Activities begin from 9am, with two screens erected for everyone to watch the day’s events unfold before the participants descend on Cragg Vale and as they continue onto Sheffield.
Throughout the day there will be a barbecue, bar and live entertainment including DJ Stephan Brearley and music by The Bogey Wheels.
There will be plenty of seating by the roadside as well as a large marquee.
Chairman of Hope John Veitch said: “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the Tour de France take on England’s longest continuous climb.
“We’ve secured a prime location with parking close by and we’re inviting everyone to come along and join us for the day.”
Tickets are priced £40 per person and early booking is essential to secure your place.
