VILLAGERS were surprised to see TV chef Gordon Ramsay in Ripponden yesterday. He was filming for his new series of The F Word at El Gato Negro – nominated one of Britain's best restaurants by viewers.
Later the 42-year-old star popped into the Green Door Cafe next door for a cup of tea.
Cafe worker Sharon Taylor said: "I was shaking like a leaf. He spent about 20 minutes in here and enjoyed his tea."
Bridget Kusyj, of Halifax, walked into El Gato Negro for lunch only to find Ramsay being served dishes by head waiter Chris Williams and the cameras rolling. She said: "It was quite a shock and we had to come out again."
Channel 4 said the new series will start next month.
