The Percival Whiteley Trust held a fundraising dinner at the Design House restaurant in Halifax, raising more than £1,000 for educational projects.

Around 70 guests were treated to performances by musicians from the Northern Orchestral Enterprises Future Heroes and a talk by Paul Whittaker OBE, who has established four deaf youth orchestras in the UK.

Chairman of the Trust, Leyland Smith, said “Paul’s talks are truly uplifting and the Trust is indebted to him for his support.”

Five awards were also given to people involved in educational projects in Calderdale.
