Firefighters have prevented a serious blaze at a joiners workshop in Hebden Bridge.

Crews from Halifax, Todmorden and Mytholmroyd, were called to Victoria Road at 7.10am this morning (Friday) and found wood works on fire causing damage to the adjoining building.

Three pumps and two breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire which also involved a pile of sawdust and wood turning machine.

Firefighters spent an hour at the scene.

No one was injured in the incident and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
